The U.S. Covid death toll tops 300,000 as vaccine distribution begins

The U.S. has reported at least 16 million total coronavirus cases, the most in the world, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. In addition, the coronavirus has killed more than 300,000 people across the country. As the U.S. grapples with devastating death tolls and surges in hospitalizations, a historic inoculation effort is also underway. Currently, U.S. officials are working to ship out the first of nearly 3 million doses of Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine to distribution centers in all 50 states.
